Emily joined the KSAN News team in April of 2019 as the weekend anchor and weekday reporter.
She was born in Virginia but spent most of her life in Southern California. Emily graduated from California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) with a degree in Communications concentrating in Journalism and Media Studies coupled with a Spanish minor.
Emily moved from the City of Angels to the Lone Star State to pursue her dream of becoming a broadcast journalist in the summer of 2018. Her past experiences include working as a producer for a three-hour morning show at another news station in town. She was a production assistant at a sister station in Abilene. At CSUMB, Emily became the voice of her university as the millennial correspondent who reported about her school’s renovation project for a local news station. Her most memorable college internship was at Univision 67, where she met her mentor. Print journalism was another joy she discovered when working as the assistant editor and reporter for a local newspaper. She also wrote for her university’s student-run paper.
During her free time, Emily enjoys attending church events, chasing the sunset, singing, discovering new music, writing, cooking, dancing, hiking and traveling. She has visited 14 countries and countless cities.
