Dan Smith joined the KLST team in July 2014 as Chief Meteorologist.
Born and raised in southern Ontario, Dan is a proud dual citizen of Canada and the United States. Early on in his life, he would watch severe weather coverage on the Detroit stations across the border, and was fascinated by finding his town on the map right under the worst of the storm. After a few short years of that, he was convinced of his career path.
Dan graduated in May 2013 with a degree in Meteorology from Florida Tech, where he was bitten by both the acting and singing bug in his first semester. He credits that time with his ability to combine science and storytelling on-air five nights a week!
When he’s not keeping an eye to the sky, chances are he has both eyes glued to a hockey game (Go Leafs Go!) or riding roller coasters wherever he can find them. Dan is also an active member of San Angelo’s leading barbershop chorus, the Twin Mountain Tonesmen.
