The junior breeding gilt show and the certified texas breed registry Texas stars gilt show starts tomorrow morning.
There are 950 entries in the CTBR Competition — up 100 from last year.
And more than 6 hundred and 30 pigs are in the junior show.
The gilts are sold in the arena … And can average about a thousand dollars a head. Last year, about 65 gilts were sold.
Gilts are female pigs that have not raised young. They’re judged on their breeding capabilities.
