This afternoon picking up right where the weekend left off, with temperatures mild for the start of August. Today expect to see mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid 90's and light east winds 5 to 10 miles per hour. While the temperatures start to heat up a small bit of energy is moving across the Texas coast bringing a small chance of showers for our southeast. If any of these showers form watch for them southeast from a Sonora to Eden line. Any showers that form will quickly dissipate by the evening becoming partly cloudy skies and overnight lows near 67 degrees and calm winds. High pressure then becomes the dominate force slowly warming conditions back to the triple digits for the middle of the work week. Expect to see 95 Tuesday with mostly sunny skies, back to near 98 Wednesday and a potential for 100 on Thursday. End of the week could see some minor changes as low pressure breaks down the high allowing for a light cooling trend back to the seasonal 96 degrees for Sunday.
