KLST Tues. 12/17/13 Noon Weather

Afternoon weather forecast for Tuesday, December 17, 2013.

Another chilly start to the morning will turn into an above average afternoon. Mild temperatures near 70 degrees expected with sunny skies and light winds out of the southeast 5 to 10 miles per hour. As the daytime highs slowly warm up so do the overnight lows. Going into Wednesday morning expect mostly clear skies and low just above freezing near 35 degrees. That's were conditions start to change. As high pressure to our west decreases and low pressure dives south winds will get a little breezy. Wednesday looks for warm conditions near 71 with winds starting off light, picking up to near 15 to 20 mph in the early afternoon and decrease throughout the evening. This trend will continue on Thursday as well as we watch for our next cold front just in time for the start of winter. The front looks to pass through Friday, capping temps to the mid 60's and dropping through the weekend. At the same time an increase of gulf moisture will help increase cloud cover ahead of the front. Overnight into Saturday looks to be our best chance for showers, but it could linger into Sunday. Afternoon highs will steadily drop reaching near 56 on Sunday and 53 to start off the next work week, and looks to continue through Christmas.
