KLST Mon. 12/16/13 Noon Weather

Afternoon weather forecast for Monday, December 16, 2013.

High pressure across South Texas keeping the warmer trend alive for the Concho Valley. Today is expected to be a few degrees warmer them what we saw over the weekend near 67 degrees with sunny skies. Winds will remain fairly light this morning picking up to around the afternoon then dying back down to around 5 to 10 miles per hour from the southwest. Tonight look for mostly clear skies and light winds to dip temperatures back down to near freezing, very seasonal for this time of year. Then going back above normal for the afternoon near 68 degrees on Tuesday. Wednesday could see the return of the 70's as winds pick up and get a little gusty by Thursday. That's where we're watching for our warmest day near 74 degrees. Just as we thought a warm Christmas was on it's way, a cold front positions it's self to pass through Friday bringing back the cooler conditions. Saturday is the start of winter as well, making it ironic that we go from above average to just below. As the front moves around look for the possibility for showers on Saturday and Sunday. Luckily temps do look to stay above freezing so, no icy conditions are expected.
