Two Lake View football Chiefs made headlines this week because they've earned all-state honors. Running back Eli Peterson earned second-team honors and defensive lineman Cipriano Aguilera received honorable mention in the 2013 Texas AP Sports Editors Class 4A all-state high school football team. After a five-year playoff drought, The Chiefs made it to the postseason with the help of district 4-4A's Offensive Player of the Year Eli Peterson. Eli helped carry the team to the playoffs for the first time since 2008 by setting a school record 2,350 yards rushing and scoring 23 touchdowns. He also had two record setting games, a 325-yarder against Greenwood and 431-yards versus Hereford. Cipriano Aguilera made the honorable mention list for his nine sacks- the highest in the Concho Valley and he had 82 tackles on the year.
