Texas Singer-Songwriter Dies

A well-known Texas singer-songwriter died over the weekend after a hunting accident at his ranch in Schleicher County. The Schleicher County Sheriff's office reported Monday, Steven Fromholz, died after a rifle accidentally discharged.
A well-known Texas singer-songwriter died over the weekend after a hunting accident at his ranch in Schleicher County. The Schleicher County Sheriff's office reported Monday, Steven Fromholz, died after a rifle accidentally discharged.

It happened near Eldorado Sunday afternoon, Fromholz, who was 68 later died at the Schleicher County Hospital.

A Schleicher County Sheriff's Deputy says Fromholz pulled his rifle out of the back seat of his pick-up, when it fell out of the case, hit the ground, and discharged.

He and his girlfriend were hunting feral hogs, she called in the incident.

Fromholz was inducted into the Texas Music Hall of Fame ten years ago. Fromholz' songs were recorded by Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett an others.

Funeral services will be Friday at Fort McKavett Cemetery.
