KLST reporter Ginelda Martinez joined the Sterling City fourth and fifth grade students at their annual educational camping trip at the H.E. Butt Foundation Camp. The students attend camp for four days while the purpose of the trip is to take the students outside of their normal classroom setting. The theory behind this is by doing so student learn better and retain more information. Also on the trip were graduating seniors of the Culinary Arts department. The students are required to have ten hours of working in a industrial kitchen and obtain their OSHA and Texas Food Handler license. The culinary students prepared 3 meals plus 2 snacks for all the elementary students and volunteers at the camp.
