When Sealy Flats surprised and shocked customers by closing December 12th, many residents were concerned for the future of Sealy Flats.

"We need Sealy Flats. It's the coolest place in San Angelo," said Patrick Russell on Sealy Flats' Facebook page.

At the time, Sealy Flats' president, Rod Brigman, was not sure whether to reopen for special events. However, with New Years Eve December 31st, Bridgman and his wife, Denise, are hosting a special concert featuring Jeff Strahan and the Jeska Bailey Band.

"We're opening. We've got a very special concert, with one of our favorite local musicians," stated Sealy Flats owner, Rod Brigman.

Bridman is no longer accepting reservations and expects a packed house.

"We'll have a full house. Right now, we're trying to set up the backyard and we have completely filled the reservations now," continued Brigman.

The doors will open at 7 p.m. and walk-ins are accepted. The food will remain out till 9 p.m. Before 9 p.m., a ticket will be $25. After 9 p.m., the ticket price drops to $15 a ticket.

A new company in town is also making its launch New Years Eve. The San Angelo Limousine Service is offering San Angelo residents a chance to bar hop and not drink and drive.

"What we're trying to do is help reduce the DWI's in town because people like to shuttle out from bar to bar occasionally," stated San Angelo Limousine owner, Randy Coleman.

The company has partnerships with seven bars in town. They include: Shenanigans, Blaine's Pub, Mejor Que Nada, Fuentes Cafe, The Black Swan, Grinners, and Stage Coach.

"In today's world, it does not take too much to be tested and have too much to drink," explained Coleman.

In order to use the service, a $10 ticket must be purchased to ride to one bar. In order to ride to five bars, a $35 ticket can be purchased.

One of the local wine bars, The Black Swan, is very excited about New Years Eve. Champagne will be provided on the house at 9 p.m. with a Rio de Janeiro theme.

"I have John Carl Esque playing live music tomorrow and he's the winner of the Blues festival," declared owner Susan Daniel.

All companies agree safety is a priority and encourage using designated drivers whether that be a friend, taxi service, or limousine company.
