The heat will only intensify today and chances for rain are going up...
Today: Mostly to partly sunny skies with a 20% chance for scattered showers and storms later in the day; the best chance for rain will be over our western counties, but central and eastern parts of the viewing area can't be ruled out for some isolated precipitation, High: 105, approaching San Angelo's old record high of 107 set in 1924

Tonight: Clearing skies with a 10% chance for isolated showers and storms, mainly before midnight, Low: 76

Thursday: Mostly sunny early before partly/mostly cloudy skies develop during the PM hours; there's a 20% chance for PM showers and storms with western parts of the viewing area seeing the best chance for rain, staying hot, High: 103

Temperatures will continue to gradually move down heading into the weekend with highs in the mid to upper 90's in most areas this upcoming weekend.
