Four Central High School football players went to hospitals Tuesday after a morning collision in Santa Rita.

It happened at the intersection of Live Oak and South Bishop at 8:30 Tuesday morning.

The 17-year-old driver of the 2002 Nissan Maxima -- who is a varsity player -- was treated and released at Shannon. The other three junior varsity players were taken to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

According to reports, the car collided with a tree.

School administration officials would not comment on the accident, other than to say they were concerned about the students.
