The numbers of flu cases are rising across the state of Texas. Recently four flu related deaths were reported through Shannon Medical Center. Now, the question what should you do to prevent the flu from spreading to your home and protecting those most at risk for contracting it. Dr. Hector Acton, Community Medical Associates Pediatrician, strongly recommends the flu vaccine to everyone from birth to the elderly to protect yourself from contracting the flu. He reminds us that frequent hand washing and covering your mouth when coughing and sneezing are essential steps to prevent the spread of germs leading to illness.
