Red Arroyo Water Treatment Plan

City Council members discussed a multi-million dollar water treatment plan at Tuesday mornings meeting.
City Council members discussed a multi-million dollar water treatment plan at Tuesday mornings meeting.

The Red Arroyo Water Treatment Plan would provide over a third of the water for the City of San Angelo. The plan is estimated to cost over $20 million (M).

Tuesday, the city decided to continue surveying the area on the plan that is expected to take two years to complete, but a date to begin the project has not yet been decided.

Council members also approved for Bentwood Country Club to purchase the easement near the railroad tracks on the east side of Bentwood. This purchase would mean Bentwood would no longer have to use city-owned water and the club would be self-sufficient.

Bentwood will begin negotiating with the City Manager, Daniel Valenzuela, concerning the use of the property.
