Police Continue Search for Possibly Armed Suspect

San Angelo Police continue their search for a possibly armed suspect that escaped an extensive perimeter manhunt Friday afternoon in San Angelo's Northside.
Tonight police are searching for a possibly armed suspect that escaped a manhunt this afternoon in the city's North side.
Officers tell us just after 2:30pm, a man described as a light skinned Hispanic male wearing a dark shirt, white cap and denim shorts took a child from a residence in the 1200 block of Koberlin Street. Police later located the suspect vehicle near 19th and Wade when the driver fled.
Information was given to police that the suspect may be armed with a shotgun.
After a two hour perimeter search involving numerous police and canine units in the area of 19th and wade, officers called off the search at around 4:15. The suspect is still at large tonight.
According to police, the 11 month old male child has been safely returned to his mother.
Officers tell us they believe the man may have initially ran from police because he is wanted for outstanding warrants.
SAPD Officer Tracy Gonzalez: "Regardless of physical attire, if he's out running in this heat, he's probably going to be overheated, he might be laying down somewhere trying to get concealment from us."
If you think you may have located this man - call 657-4315 and do not approach him as he is considered armed and dangerous tonight.
