Lake View football is gearing up for their first game this Friday and one of the most important strengths the Chiefs have is their senior leadership.
Rachel: " Lake View football is back in action in preparation for their first game against Andrews. The Mustangs have a strong offense led by quarterback Jase Hammock. The Chiefs recognize the strengths of that offense and are confident in their game plan set for Friday."
Doug Kuhlmann: " We're going to have to cover well, hopefully disguise coverages, make it difficult for them to see where we're in. They run the ball real well. They have some athletic people, so just as a team and what they do offensively is tough to stop, but we feel like we have a good game plan going into Friday night."
Rachel: " The Chiefs made the playoffs for the first time in five years last season. This season, Lake View was picked to finish last behind Abiline Cooper, Lubbock High, Lubbock Cooper, and Plainview. The Chiefs don't feel the pressure right now to make the playoffs again this season, but rather they are excited about it."
DJ Schlather " To be I like because we get to show everybody how far we came, how far we're going to go and if we keep doing what we've been doing, we're going to make it back to the playoffs."
Rachel: " To get to the playoffs is no easy road and the Chiefs will have to utilize their strengths of this season. One of those strengths involves the veteran leadership on the team."
Kulhmann: " No doubt our senior class has been a strong point for us. Even as freshmen, sophomores, juniors, they've stuck together, they've played hard, they've enjoyed being around each other in friendship and in football."
Here are some other area games taking place this weekend. TLCA opens up their season at home against Harper. Christoval will play host to the Wink Wildcats,
Bronte will travel to Robert Lee for a 6man game, and Miles will play at Rocksprings.
