KLST Wed. 07/23/14 Noon Weather

Afternoon weather forecast for Wednesday, July 23, 2014.

Another mild evening in the books, after just scrapping by the triple digits yesterday. High officially topped out at 99 degrees over at Mathis Field, keeping our 100+ degrees total for 2014 at 4 days. But that won't be the case for today, warmer conditions are expected bringing the region right back into the 100 degrees mark. Winds will be mainly east 10 to 15 miles per hour, but without the extra cloud cover we saw yesterday daytime heating will not be capped to the 90's. Sunny skies for the afternoon will lead towards mostly clear for the overnight hours, with lows around 74 degrees. Light winds expected for tomorrow as high pressure continues to build into the area, as temperatures increase as well, expecting to see near 101. Watching for the peak heating to occur Friday, near 103 degrees before slowly dropping back into the upper 90's by Monday. Tuesday could be the biggest chance we see in the next 7-days. The high pressure looks to retreat towards the west as low pressure moves through the great lakes sending a weak front through the area and giving some relief to our summer heat.
