Early in the morning it was freezing cold, so unlike the middle of April. San Angelo bottomed out at 29 degrees, one degree off tying the record low for the day. Abilene broke their record and Sterling City holds the coldest temperature at 21 degrees. Throughout the day winds have picked back up and sunny skies have allowed for warmer conditions. As high pressure builds back along the surface so will highs and the winds. Staying cool tonight in the upper 30's but by tomorrow the gusty winds will return. Daytime highs should still reach near 75 degrees much closer to the seasonal normal than today. By mid week a weak cold front will push through Thursday bringing extra cloud cover and slightly cooler temperatures. No rain is expected with the system in our area, most remains to the east. Until the weekend when a second trough of low pressure moves through. This one continues to show the potential for showers and thunderstorms lingering through Sunday. Right now chances stand at 30% for Saturday and 20% for Sunday. Monday brings the return of dry and warmer conditions in the mid to upper 80's.
