KLST Thurs. 06/19/14 6pm Weather

Evening weather forecast for Thursday, June 19, 2014.

Once again the story seems to be the warm, windy and muggy weather across the area along with the lack of rain. The chances are there just have yet to tap into the abundant moisture in the atmosphere. Tonight we'll be watching to our south as a small disturbance pushes north possibly bringing some showers and thunderstorm to our south. Also watching the west as storms could pop up along the Permian Basin and push east into our area. San Angelo remains at a 20% chance for storms through tomorrow but drying out just in time for the weekend. Temperatures staying above average as well in the mid 70's with lighter winds south 5 to 10 miles per hour. Going into Friday watch for seasonal highs in the low 90's again with muggy conditions as dew points stick around in the 60's. Winds will pick up slightly becoming breezy with mostly cloudy skies. Saturday will see the chances as cloud cover starts to subside becoming mostly sunny by Sunday afternoon. Temperatures are also warming up as high pressure starts to build into the region. Monday could one of the warmest days we've seen in a while with a high expected near 96 degrees. That's where a weak front is expected to pass through possible bringing another chance for showers by tuesday.
