Police responded to a domestic violence call just before 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the Stripes Convenience Store located on Southwest Boulevard.
Upon arrival, the suspect had already left the scene in a black Chevrolet Impala, according to police.
Officers were able to locate the vehicle on Avenue D, and continued their chase through the 400 Block of North Jefferson, where the suspect abandoned the vehicle and ran.
Police say they set up a wide-perimeter and brought in dogs to help find the suspect identified as James Baimbridge.
As officers retrieved evidence from the Impala, a woman was escorted to the vehicle and united with a young boy.
Over two hours later from the initial incident, officers arrested Baimbridge.
He has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, family violence, and evading detention.
This is an ongoing investigation.
