There is one assumption people can make about the Concho Valley High School track programs, they are loaded with speed. Here is a look at some of our area 1 through 2 A State Qualifiers. In Class 1A division 1 Mason boys mile relay team comes into this weekend with the fastest time in the state, and Miguel Castillo also from Mason will go for the Gold in the 800 meter run. On the girls side a pair of Concho Valley Pole Vaulters look to bring home medals in Ozona's McKenna Moses and Eldorado's McKenzie McAngus. Kati Tumlinson from Irion County looks to jump her way onto the medal stand. In division 2 take a look at the boys 4x100 meter relay, Water Valley and Bronte both running for the gold medal and here is the unique thing about this race, Garden City will also be there, so all three sprint relay teams from district 14 will be competing against each other one more time on high school tracks grandest stage. Michael Curry from Robert Lee has the fastest mile in the state going into this weekend, and Cassidy Doggett will run in the 100 meter dash for Sterling City. Class 2A now the Sonora boys and Grape Creek girls will run for gold in the mile relay and Hagen Stoute from Wall will compete in the pole vault. Be sure to tune into KSAN Sports this weekend for all of your State Championship results.
