At Tuesday's City Council meeting, the several potholes and cracks in the city streets were the topic of discussion.
In September, a South Texas
road contractor seal-coated streets across the city including: the Bluffs, downtown, near Lake Nasworthy
, and in Southland. In this project, workers put down asphalt and aggregate rock to seal cracks in roads, costing the city more than $1.5 million (M); however, drivers have been calling the city complaining about loose gravel and other problems.
The City Engineer says the seal coat did not work as intended in some places, and says materials used could have been a problem.
He says they're waiting for test results expected sometime next month, and will continue discussions about road conditions at future meetings.
