Central Football team wants to become elite 08/11/14

The Bobcats look to be the class of District 3-6A.
San Angelo, TX--It was a long road but the Central Football program has finally attained some status, and the team this year is ready carry the torch of success left by the recent classes in the Brent Davis era.

        Head Coach Brent Davis said, "Our coaching staff does a great job of getting our kids ready and having high expectations and preparing them and giving them every opportunity to have success and that's part of our system and these kids have bought into what we do,especially this group I mean we've had these guys since they were in 7th grade so they know the system."

        "You know when those coaches first got here, I was 13 and our program was not great to say the least, and it's made leaps and bounds i mean it's incredible all of our coaches are great and they're all in, " said Senior Right Guard Benjamin Weatherby.

        This years team has the potential to be the best, they're expected by many to finish fist in their district, it's a lot of pressure but they don't let it faze them.

        Senior Defensive End Eli Howard pointed out, "There's a target on our backs you know everyone saying Central's the team to beat and i wouldn't have it any other way, it's exciting and you know you've got to fight back and definitely go get that next district championship."

        Central opens the season August 29th at San Angelo Stadium at 7:30 against Del Rio.
