Jeff Corean: "The class 1A division two region two track and field championships are off and running at the LeGrand Sports Complex on the campus of ASU. One of the state qualifiers is Bronte junior Jared Scott."
Jeff: "We talked to you a couple of weeks ago about this moment right here. Now it is over with, you won. You're headed to state. How does it feel to go back again?"
Jared Scott: "It feels really great. It feels good to go back. Hopefully take home the gold this time. I would be happy with any medal, but I hope to take home the gold. This year I've been doing a lot more drills than I did last year and working on progressing in my form. Just trying to get better at things I didn't do as good at last year this year."
Jeff: "Now it's here, now it's time for state, lets focus on now the next week and a half to get to Austin. What is your main focus and your goal coming out of state?"
Scott: "Well, since next week we have state golf, I am going to be a little behind on drills. Next week I am just going to have to work harder and get better on my drills and hopefully go from there and see what we can do at state."
Jeff: "I'm glad you brought that up. You're a state finalist at golf, now state finalist in track. Talk about the time balance in-between the two sports."
Scott: "It is very hard to practice in both. In golf you have to hit a lot of golf balls. In long jump you have to get a lot of runway jumps and drills. Just make sure your mark is right on point. That way when competition comes around you are right on the money and jumping your very best."
Jeff: "Let's talk about the relays. You have a strong relay team. Let's talk about your sprint relay."
Scott: "Sprint relay is looking good. We are hoping to get into the top three at least. You still have that wildcard chance. We are sitting in the top three places in all of the relays. So, we are sitting pretty good."
Jeff: "There are plenty more tickets to be punched on Saturday. Be sure to tune into KSAN sports this weekend for all of the latest results."
