Jeff: "The Bronte boys golf team has reached the class 1A state tournament three out of the last four years. A feat that is important to the teams only senior and the entire community of Bronte."
Ty Lee: "It's important to us as a community. Especially a community that is based pretty much off of athletic success. It's a pretty good feeling to cap your senior year off like that."
Jeff: "The community has seen much success this spring, having four of their state qualifying golfers also qualify for the regional track meet. As you can imagine, time to practice is scarce, but the athletes and coaches make it work."
Lance Burns: "Four of our guys are actually still in track right now going to regionals. So it is pretty hard for us to find the time, but we end up doing it. It all works out good. Our coaches make it work."
Jeff: "The Longhorn golf team may have one other winning element on their side, experience."
Burns: "Having everyone return from last year, we won the district last year and placed fourth at regionals. So we knew we had a chance with other teams losing some players."
Jeff: "With senior Ty Lee making his third appearance at the state tournament he has this advice for his younger teammates."
Lee: "We're just trying to play solid. Olney is by far probably the best team right now in the state. They beat us at region. I would tell them just to stay with the people in their group, don't let them beat you too bad. Just play solid golf. You can't really win it on the first day, but you can definitely lose it on the first day. We're just going to play solid golf and see how it goes."
