The Angelo State Belles volleyball team have had one of the best four year stretches in school history.

Four conference championship match appearances, three NCAA tournament berths and two regional final matches later, the Belles have accomplished almost every achievement a team could.

But on Saturday the team's hopes of adding a NCAA Division 2 Championship were dashed by West Texas A&M for the second consecutive year.

After winning the first set, the Lady Buffs stormed back winning three straight, eliminating the Belles and ending their season. ASU also said goodbye to three seniors on Saturday.

Maddie Huth, Kaelen Valdez, and Lauren McWilliams played their final matches for ASU but the three seniors left their mark on the school by establishing a formidable and competitive program for years to come.

Although the team was disappointed with the loss, head coach Chuck Waddington said he is very proud of his girls and that the bar his team has set has never been higher.
