The Lone Star Conference held their annual media day in downtown Fort Worth where conference commissioner Stan Wagnon released the 2013 LSC preseason poll and announced the conferences preseason players of the year. Angelo State, who are coming off their second consecutive 5-6 campaign, were picked to finish fifth. A prediction coach will Wagner says his team will use as motivation entering fall camp. "Just looking back on last season everyone that's ranked ahead of us are teams that we ended up losing to." said Head Coach Will Wagner.  "We expected our ranking, but we all know and our guys know that's not where we want to end up.

So on top of the motivation to get better this season using this going into the 2013 season hopefully are guys will be fired up."  The rams are returning 15 starters on both sides of the ball, including last year's leading tackler, junior linebacker Rush Seaver. The Rams lost several close games to conference rivals in 2012, something that Seaver says fuels this year's bunch, "We look back on last season and our 5 & 6 record and we hate it. It's something we don't ever want to see again, a losing record, and it's definitely going to jumpstart our season next year."  Coach Wagner, who is entering his third season as head man for the rams, says his team has plenty of challenges ahead of them given their tough schedule however he says if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best. The ASU Rams are set to start fall camp on August 15 and they hit the field September 5 for there first game against Lack Hills State.
