The Girl Scouts of America held the 23rd Annual Race on the River. The event is both a program and fundraiser for the Girl Scouts which serves more than 19,000 girls in grade K-12 and over 13,000 adult volunteers in 46 Central Texas Counties. The event had over 100 volunteers that helped organize the race. As a program the race helps the girls gain self confidence while the training for the race boosts self-esteem. The race had a large crowd in attendance cheering on the girls as they paddled down the Concho River to the finish line.
