The Angelo State Men's Basketball team dropped an 82-63 decision against Midwestern State in the LSC Championship Semi-Finals in Allen on Friday afternoon. They'll wait until Sunday to see if they receive an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.

The Water Valley Wildcats punched their tickets to the Erwin Center in Austin with a statement win last weekend against Graford. That statement? We're back and stronger than ever. Water Valley has improved each of the last three seasons posting 31wins two seasons ago, and 33 wins last season. This year the Wildcats are 27-5 BUT, they have scheduled tougher competition. One loss was a 3 point loss to 5A Del Rio. Water Valley is in the smallest classification in Texas Class 1A Division 2. Coach Copley can see the difference in his team this season.
Angelo State Softball won two games against A&M International on Wednesday at Mayer Field, the scores were 12-8 and 19-0. 24th ranked ASU will host 4th ranked Texas Woman's on Friday and Saturday.
The time is nearing for the Induction Ceremony for the Bobcat Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2014. The ceremony is now just 10 days out. It'll be a special night where the 1983 Central Gymnastics team, Coach James White, and seven other inductees will be honored.

The Nationally ranked Belles Softball team opened LSC play in Stephenville where they won two of three games against Tarleton State. While they scored 17 runs in one of the wins, it was the defense plays that the coaching staff says is the biggest positive from the series.
Over the weekend Angelo State's Indoor Track and Field team finished 2nd at the LSC Women's Indoor Championships in Lubbock. Members of the ASU team consistently turned in their best times of the season, but no one was more impact-full than Jordan Gray. Gray won the LSC title in Pentathlon and Long Jump.

With this weekend being the first weekend in March, it is time to get another sport into full swing...Little League Baseball Hundreds gathered at the Fairview School Fields this weekend in Wall for the Jason Block Memorial Tournament. Jason passed away tragically in 2010 while working to pay for lights to be put up around his little leagues baseball field. This weekend was the fourth annual tournament which featured a home run derby for all ages. Jason's mother Barbara said that her sons passions for these fields and the game of baseball was like no others, and people step in to help see Jason's passion live on.
The Angelo State Men's and Women's basketball teams wrapped up conference play this weekend splitting with Texas A&m Kingsville. The Belles and Rams will begin Lone Star Conference tournament play on thursday in Allen. For the Rams making the tournament was one of the main goals set by first year head coach Chris Beard. Coach Beard hopes to build off of this season and looks to set the bar higher for the years to come. The Rams goals now shift to winning the Lone Star Conference Tournament. As of this week the ASU was ranked number 8 regionally which means the Rams still have a shot at making the NCAA regional tournament without winning the LSC tournament. One thing is for certain coach Beard and his players are excited for this weekend.
The Angelo State Ladies were able to rack up 125 points during the two day event and come in second overall behind West Texas A&M. Kearah Danville won the triple jump improving her automatic mark with a jump of 41' 5. The senior finished third in the long jump yesterday and finished fourth in the high jump with a leap of 5' 3.75". Jaylon Rodgers won her second straight 800 meter title with a time of 2:09.89 Jordan Gray came in second in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.06 and placed sixth in the high jump . Gray won the pentathlon and the long jump on day one the conference meet. And Lexi Brooks second in the 400-meters with a 56.04. time.
Water Valley would beat foe Graford in the Regional finale 58-25 in a dominating performace.
The San Angelo Bandits are looking to change things around in their second season of existence. They have proved they will take the necessary steps to do so.

The Lone Star Conference will hold it's annual Indoor Track and Field Championship meet in Lubbock on Saturday and Sunday. While ASU would like to win the meet, they're dealing with some injuries to the athletes right now that will make that a tall order.
