Wall Baseball defeats Bangs to Advance to Regional Semifinals

- Last season the Wall Hawk baseball team were on the doorstep of the state tournament however district rival Bangs eliminated the Hawks and ended their season. Wall managed to get some payback against Bangs this year by defeating the Dragons in their two matchups 17 to 2 and 12 to 1.

But the real satisfaction would come on Thursday with a 5 to 1 win in the regional quarterfinals. The Hawks would be taking on Bangs' ace J.T. Newton who has given Wall fits in the past but the Hawks were confident heading into the game. Peyton Brown got things going in the top of the first with a stand up inside-the-park home run giving Wall an early 2 to nothing lead.

Wall would tack on three more runs and defeat the Dragons for the third time this year. Wall will play the winner of the Childress-Bushland series in the regional semifinals next week.
