For the past seven years Stan Wagnon has served as commissioner of the Lone Star Conference. Wagnon has always been very gracious with us and our requests for information from the league office. Today it was announced that he has resigned. Wagnon was instrumental in getting the Lone Star Football Festival started at AT&T Stadium, and organizing the leagues neutral site basketball championship tournament that has been a huge success. ASU President Dr. Brian May is the chair of the LSC Presidents Council and spoke about Wagnons resignation.
Dr. Brian May: "I want to tell you Stan Wagnon did a great job for the Lone Star Conference and he was a great commissioner. We're excited about the chance to even get better and take it to a new level. We feel like when we start the search we'll have a deep pool to choose from. But it's somebody we need to bring in and hopefully attract even more members to our conference. We need more schools."
