Will Smith and Dartwan Bush are among two rookies at Dallas Cowboys training camp in Oxnard.
Smith a seventh round pick has been sidelined the last few practices with a hamstring injury, while Bush, has been taking reps at defensive end.
Smith and Bush are just two rookies that are looking to make in impact on this Cowboys roster, supplementing the veteran leadership already present on the team, but it won’t happen overnight.
“There are absolutely corrections every night, not only for the rookies but for everybody on our team,” Head coach Jason Garrett said. “They have seen a lot of this information before. The way we go through it ota's and then we go through it during mini camps and this will be the third time they've gone through it.”
Despite seeing the information for a third time in training camp, once they put on the pads, it adds a whole other element.
“It gets us excited over here in training camp and then you add another stimulus you add pads to the equation, all of a sudden there are different things that player has to deal with when the ball is snapped, Garrett said. “It's good to see them and their approach they take. I think the demeanor is right. But there is a lot to learn and that's why we practice, and that's not only for the ‘rooks but for everybody."
The Cowboys will practiced Tuesday and will not have another off day until Friday.
