Higher winds speeds and warmer temps this morning helping to keep developing fog at bay. But as those winds are a good things today, you may not be thinking so much later this afternoon. Cold front pushing south will move through the Concho Valley later this morning, taking those winds and switching them up to the northwest and picking up speed, 20 to 25 miles per hour with gusts around 35. Cooler conditions behind the front will keep us in the mid to upper 60's which is quite seasonal for this time of year. The air is also drier so fire dangers will also be a concern. With low humidity and high winds a fire could spark and move very quickly. The burn ban is still in effect for Tom Green county, as well as a Red Flag Warning issued by the National Weather Service from 10am today till 6pm. Overnight watch for winds to die back down and switch to the south, along with mostly clear conditions will bring the return of chilly temps near freezing. By Friday winds are back to the southwest at 15 to 20 mph helping rebound conditions to the 70's. And if you thought that was good, ahead of the next front Saturday will be looking for highs in the 80's. When the front hits expect to see the 70's for Sunday returning to the 60's for Monday. That's where we'll bounce from the 60's and 70's through the rest of the extended forecast with an increase cloud cover.
