Statewide "Trash-off"

Over 50 groups in Tom Green County joined hundreds around the state for the annual trash-off Saturday morning.

The "Don't Mess With Texas Trash-off" is a partnership between Keep Texas Beautiful and the Texas Department of Transportation, which work to keep our Texas roads clean.

TxDOT spend $37 million (M) in taxpayer dollars last year to maintain state roadways, and over a ton is collected each week.

All-around the state, volunteers groups set out to pick-up trash, Saturday. In Tom Green County, 54 groups have adopted-a-highway to do their part.

Organizations involved in the county Adopt-a-Highway program, pick-up trash in their designated two-mile area at least four times a year.
