Concho Valley Strong Day at HEB

Nexstar Media Stations join local agencies to aid those impacted by Harvey

San Angelo - TX - KLST and KSAN News Channels joined in efforts to help those impacted by the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

"You know the Concho Valley is a wonderful place. When things happen and people need to come together, we do," says general manager, Tom Stovall.

Tuesday, the Nexstar Media stations collected monetary and blood donations in the parking of the HEB on Sherwood Way.

1st Community Federal Credit Union, HEB, the United Blood Services, Angelo State University and San Angelo Independent School District all teamed in on the effort to help those Texas communities impacted by Harvey.

"It's amazing to me how people pull together in times of need in the Concho Valley. We probably have one of the most giving communities that I've ever been a part of," says Stovall.

"It makes me very proud to be from here, it's make me proud to see the response we get when people are in need."

The local monetary goal surpassed $30,000. The United Blood Service also exceeded its goal, collecting over 70 pints of blood.
