Vigil at La Vernia High School held for church shooting victims

La Vernia High School holds vigil for Sutherland Springs, TX victims

San Angelo, TX - A vigil for the Sutherland Springs church shooting victims was held at a nearby high school Tuesday night, November 7. 150-200 people from the community gathered together to remember the victims.

"We have to say Lord God we give this to you because my mind can't get around it. Sutherland Springs has walked through the fire and you may not believe me right now but I swear to you it will not be burned," calls out, Pastor Chris Kirkham of Cowboy Fellowship of Wilson Co. "We will come back. We will rebuild that church."

Sutherland Springs community continues to mourn the loss of 26 innocent lives taken during a Sunday morning church service. Today, out in the open, they fearlessly sang and prayed, surrounded by fellow Christians.

"It too will pass and there's nothing greater than that love of brother hood and sisterhood that they're showing right now to each other," adds Pastor Lynn Case of Iron Sharpens Iron.

From Laurie Dierlam/Faith Family Church, ""It affects all of us here in Texas. This is -- these are our people."

"I'm just happy to see the community come in support of each other in this really crappy time," expresses Jessica Hempworth a resident of the community.
