San Angelo, TX - We're just about striding into the holiday season, which means the Toys for Tots campaign is officially underway in the Concho Valley.
Saturday was the first of three 12-hour toy drive campaigns, with local marines hitting different street corners in front of various HEB and Wal-Mart locations.
They're armed with ammo cans so residents can drop in some monetary donations to help the cause.
These sites were also accepting toy donations, of course.
Last year organizers say they had about 20,000 to 30,000 toys to present to about 3,500 kids thanks to the helpful residents in the area.
The next Toys for Tots campaign toy drive will take place on November 18. The last one is scheduled to take place on December 2.
