SAN ANGELO, Tx - In news with Kaitlin Moore, a San Angelo man is dead following a motorcycle crash on old Knickerbocker Highway.
Saturday afternoon two motorcycle drivers were traveling west on Knickerbocker Road.
Police say, on one motorcycle was Curtis Hardy, 58, of San Angelo, who traveled into the south barrow ditch for an unknown reason, he then struck a dirt embankment, traveled into a field and overturned.
Hardy died as a result of his injuries.
On another motorcycle was Audrey Roe, 56, who lost control of her motorcycle and overturned.
Roe also of San Angelo was air lifted to Shannon for treatment.
DPS officers say both individuals were wearing their helmets at the time of the accident.
A high speed chase between police and a Clyde man ends just a few miles east of San Angelo.
Officials say the man was trying to escape law enforcement in a white pick up.
The driver ended up driving off the highway, flying over a creek and wrecking about 150 yards from the cliff.
Runnels county and other law enforcement officials say the chase started north of Winters on Highway 83 after they received reports of a reckless driver traveling at speeds of 90 to 110 miles per hour.
They have identified the driver as Kevin Wheeler of Clyde, Texas.
Wheeler was transported to a hospital in San Angelo to be evaluated, however he will be arrested and charged with attempting to elude law enforcement in a vehicle.
Fresh is what you get at the San Angelo farmers market and this weekend they held their grand opening.
About 30 to 40 vendors were expected to pile under the pavilion with all kinds of veggies and door prizes every three minutes.
Although the market has been taking place for the past five weekends, this grand opening hosted items which weren't all available until now, except the melons!
Organizers say grand opening events have been taking place for at least 15 years.
