It was learned that a dispute between two children who reside in separate apartments led to the parents of those children engaging in an argument. The argument resulted in the suspect, 32 year old Ala Abdelhadi, getting involved in a physical altercation with the 15 year old victim.
During the altercation, Abdelhadi used a pocket knife to stab the victim multiple times. Abdelhadi then fled the scene in a vehicle. The victim was transported to Shannon Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers on the scene were able to provide a license plate to the vehicle in which Abdelhadi fled. Other officers located the vehicle near the intersection of Bell Street and Pulliam Street. Abdelhadi was taken into custody at that time with no further incident.
Abdelhadi was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and booked into the Tom Green County Jail.
