The mall and Esperanza Health and Dental centers teamed up for their Back to School celebration on the final day of National Health Center Week.
At the celebration, the first 200 kids in grades kindergarten through 5th grade could pock up a free backpack.
Local non-profits and businesses also filled those backpacks with essential school supplies.
The first 100 kids to arrive at the celebration received a free fitting and bicycle helmet courtesy of the Concho Valley County Medical Society.
Statistics show, on average, 250 children in the U.S. under the age of 14 die each year because of a bike crash and another 300,000 are treated for severe injuries.
