SAISD Introduces New Director of Communications

Derrick Jackson Joins School District

Mr. Derrick Jackson has been named the new Director of Communications for San Angelo ISD.

Mr. Jackson will take the place of Jamie Highsmith, who is retiring after thirty-five years in public education.

Mr. Jackson, currently the communications specialist in Frisco ISD, will relocate with his family to San Angelo in July.   His expertise in and exposure to high stakes public relations will serve him well in all facets of marketing and in continuing SAISD's strong partnership with local media.

In addition to assisting with a successful 775 million dollar bond campaign for Frisco ISD in 2014, he was also responsible for mass communication in the district and all video production.

He has helped produce and edit multiple television shows including Sports Stars of Tomorrow, by Pat Summerall; Chevrolet's Raceweek, hosted by Scott Murray; and Taste of the Southwest by Wolfgang Puck.  SAISD warmly welcomes Mr. Jackson!
