Police Involved Shooting in Schlotzskys parking lot is fatal

San Angelo, Tx - Updated info from SAPD:

Male suspect 

On Thursday, November 10, 2016 at about 1358hrs, members of the San Angelo Police Department's Street Crimes Division along with Special Agents from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Special Agents from the Department of Homeland Security, and Deputies with the US Marshals were working to arrest a known wanted suspect. 
 
The suspects identity is not being released at this time. The suspect was wanted for Felony Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and a suspect in another Aggravated Assault that had occurred in recent days. 
 
Detectives and Special Agents encountered the armed suspect and a confrontation ensued. During the encounter the suspect brandished a handgun and multiple shots were fired. The Detectives and members of the various agencies involved fired shots that struck the suspect. The suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Howard and the Texas Rangers are leading the investigation. It is normal practice for the Texas Rangers to lead the investigation along side the San Angelo Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division and the Professional Standards Division. No officers were injured and there are no suspects at large. 
 
The investigation is on going and all other press releases will be completed by the Texas Department of Public Safety. 
 

3:45pm update ... SAPD officers confirm a suspect was shot and killed during shooting in Schlotzksy's parking lot this afternoon.

 

3:00pm update .... San Angelo Police confirm there was a police involved shooting in the parking lot of Schlotzsky's. There is no suspect at large. Texas Rangers will investigate this as that is protocol for an officer involved shooting. Police have not taken any questions at this time, they just provided basis information. We will continue to update as information becomes available.

A Schlotzsky's employee has confirmed that the store will be closed for the reminder of the day.

 

2:40pm update .... Our reporter on scene is saying that police have asked some customers to stay on site at Schlotzsky's at this time. It appears the shooting took place in the parking lot as that is where police have placed caution tape in a triangular shape area.

 

2:00pm ....

We have a news crew on scene near Abe and Harris after a call over the police scanner indicated a shooting victim needed assistance. The call came over the scanner at 2 o'clock. Police have blocked off a portion of the parking lot at Schlotzsky's. We will update with information as it becomes available.
