Pat Attebery Gets Birthday Surprise

SAN ANGELO, TX - Pat Attebery worked at KLST and KSAN for 45 years and May 20th will be her 90th birthday.

Since retirement, Pat has been volunteering, reading to kindergarten and first graders at Fort Concho Elementary.

Wednesday was her last day to volunteer for the program, so the kids decided to do something special.

"When we found out she was going to be 90 in May and this was going to be her last day, we decided to have a school wide party and do something in her honor," said principal Lori Barton. "So the children decided to bring a dollar for a cupcake and donate that money to literature alive that supports literacy through free books and programs for children."

Fort Concho Elementary will present the check to Be Theatre to benefit their literature alive program.
