The U.S. News and World Report has issued its list of the Best Performing High Schools in the United States for 2017, and 11 Concho Valley Schools made the list as Bronze Medalists.

High Schools in Brady ISD, Bronte ISD, Christoval ISD, Coleman ISD,  Eden CISD, Paint Rock ISD, Robert Lee ISD, Santa Anna ISD, TLCA Charter School, Veribest ISD and Wall ISD all earned Bronze Medals from the report.

According to the U.S. News and World Report, Bronze medals are awarded to just 16.8 percent of all High schools in America. The schools are evaluated on a set of four criteria, which includes: 1) Students perform better than expected in their state; 2) Disadvantaged students perform better than teh state average; 3) Student graduation rates meet or exceed a national standard, and 4) Students are prepared for college-level coursework upon graduation.

Several Concho Valley schools including Ballinger, Central High School, and Lake View High School were not ranked this year. According to U.S. News and World Report, 70.5% of all schools in America receive no acknowledgement, rating, or medal.
