Tom Green County, TX - A high speed chase ends in fiery crash, with the driver handcuffed and hauled off to the hospital.
The Runnels County Sheriff says the driver was first spotted speeding north of winters of Highway 83 but it wasn't until near Ballinger where a deputy spotted the Chevy pickup.
He says the driver, Kevin Wheeler, was speeding. He says he hit speeds at more than 100 miles an hour. Deputies continued chasing him until he flew off the road a few miles east of San Angelo.
The car went up in flames. Deputies arrested him but he was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
