Father, 43, Dies of Flu in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Tx - A Lubbock man, who recently moved from Abilene, died after contracting the flu last week. 

Jason Alan Smith, 43, was pronounced deceased at a Lubbock hospital on January 10 after becoming ill unexpectedly.

Smith's obituary says, "he loved his family and friends, God, the Pittsburgh Steelers, muscle cars, The Dallas Stars, The Texas Rangers and Marvel comics."

His funeral will take place at the Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17.

Smith lived in Abilene for 20 years before recently moving to Lubbock, according to the obituary.
