Johny Barbata: The Legendary Life of a Rock Star Drummer

The 60's and 70's were filled with a new era of music and talent. From The Beatles to The Eagles, Johny Barbata knows them well as The Turtles drummer wrote in his book "The Legendary Life of a Rock Star Drummer"

"Met Albert Einstein when I was three years old runs out of gas at the lake had to tow him back I was sitting in his lap. so I put in my book it was my first brush with fame at three and anyone interested in buying the book can go to my website," Barbata said.

Over the course of his career Johny Barbata has played on 100 albums and
20 hit singles as drummer for the bands The Turtles, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship. His book is filled with personal stories and relationships adding that success comes to musicians who are well rounded in a variety of musical styles.

"If you can play what's on the records you can play anything and most people most musicians are one dimensional they play on style whether it's rock country or blues r&b I can play all that and that's what makes a good studio musician to be able to play all kinds of music," Barbata said.
