Commissioner Bill Ford is seeking a full term.

"Due to the vacancy in my position, I've been there for 13 months," stated Ford.

Ford hopes to win the March 4th primary. Ford originally accepted the position after the previous commissioner resigned. Ford recalls getting the call.

"I got a phone call…I didn't know who it was. My wife and I were in the hospital and I asked her…she looked at me and said 'that would be a good thing'," Ford continued.

Ford said he and his wife, Vicki, have lived in Christoval for 12 years and the people in his district are very diverse.

"When you think about the differences in the locations and the people…it can be complex, but it's not. It's just the folks I grew up with around in Tom Green County," said Ford.

While Ford is proud of the progress he and his team have accomplished. He is also looking forward to the future. His favorite project has been on hold for years.

"The Pugh Park down in Christoval on the river, that's been on the books for 5 years now…It's a parks and wildlife project," finished Ford.

Ford said he is thankful to have the position and hopes to accomplish more in the future.
