SAN ANGELO, TX - Within a few short months another San Angelo family will be moving into a new Habitat for Humanity home.
Organizers with Habitat for Humanity San Angelo gathered for the official groundbreaking on the new "bank build home" on Bowie Street.
Kristi Caples is the newest habitat home-owner and will be moving in with her two young sons when construction is complete.
Caples will also help with building her new home.
Judy Sikes, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of San Angelo said, "Our homeowner partners work side by side with us and they actually end up purchasing the home. So this is not a handout, but a hand up. This is a way for someone who can never own their own home to have a chance to own a home."
Habitat for Humanity helps families buy houses at cost with a zero interest mortgage.
The principal payments help provide funding for additional habitat houses in San Angelo.
