What was supposed to be a fun, family vacation for an Odessa family ended with a visit to the hospital.

Sunday evening, a five year-old girl is at the San Angelo Community Medical Center after being being run over by a trailer, attached to a truck, at the Spring Creek Marina. Luckily, lake police were in the area, heard her screaming, and called an ambulance.

We got there just as officials were leaving. The accident happened near Lake Nasworthy at an intersection on the road. Police said the girl was not paying attention, started running, fell down, and that is when the trailer ran over her.

The woman driving the vehicle immediatly stopped the vehicle. Officers said she was going about the speed limit, 20 miles per hour. She does not have any life-threatening injuries. An officer, who witnessed the incident, said it appears her lower body was run over.
